Set a calm countdown for guided or unguided meditation sessions. The gentle alarm signals the end without jarring interruptions.
How it works
Select from 8 quick presets (1 minute to 60 minutes) or enter a custom duration using hours, minutes, and seconds. The circular progress ring shows the total duration before you start.
Click Start and the timer begins counting down. The circular progress ring fills as time passes, giving you a visual indication of how much time remains. You can pause at any time and resume later.
When the countdown reaches zero, the timer plays an audio alarm and displays a green "Time's up!" indicator. Click Restart to begin the same countdown again, or Reset to start fresh.
Frequently asked questions
The Pomodoro Technique uses 25-minute focused work intervals followed by 5-minute breaks. After four pomodoros, take a longer 15-30 minute break. Select the 25 min preset on the timer and start working. When the alarm sounds, take your break and restart for the next interval.
Yes, the timer plays an audio beep using the Web Audio API when the countdown reaches zero. No external audio files are needed. If your browser blocks audio, you will still see the visual "Time's up!" indicator on the screen.
Yes, use the custom time input at the bottom of the timer. Enter hours, minutes, and seconds separately, then click Set. You can set timers from 1 second up to 99 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds.
No. The timer is tied to the browser tab. If you close the tab, the timer stops. However, switching to another tab or minimizing the browser will not stop the timer. It continues running in the background.
A timer counts down from a set duration to zero (like a kitchen timer). A stopwatch counts up from zero to measure elapsed time (like in sports). This page has both a countdown timer and a separate stopwatch tool.
